New Information for the 2018/19 School Year

First Day Back Instructions

Supply Lists

The attached supply lists indicate the items that students should bring the first day of school. RCS provides students with most of their basic supplies. Students are expected to care for the supplies that are assigned to them. Should those supplies become lost or damaged, the parent will be contacted by the classroom teacher to provide replacement.

Bell Schedule for 2018/2019

In order to accommodate all of our high school and elementary classes in common areas such as the gymnasium, a staggered start time is required. The school day will begin at 8:30 am for high school and 8:45 am for elementary. Outdoor playground supervision for elementary students will begin at 8:15 am for families that are dropping off both high school and elementary students. On School Property Parking Changes

To accommodate the growth of our school, we will be expanding and restructuring our parking lot and pickup area. As a result, we are making significant changes to our pick up procedure. The attached map shows the new parking arrangements. Please note that this is a significant change. Be aware that parent, student and staff parking will be very different in the new school year. See the attached map and explanation. Also, please also be sure to notify anyone who may be picking up your child(ren) of the changes.

Key points:

  • All high school students must apply for a parking spot prior to August 22nd in order to park on school property. 
  • We will be operating two pick-up lanes, organized by last name, beginning in September. Please see the attached map for details. 
  • On school property parking will now be around the perimeter of the parking lot/pickup area. Please see the attached map for details.


Door Unlock Times

  • Front doors – 8 am to 4 pm
  • Back doors off the tarmac for elementary students – 8:15 am to 9:00 am and 3:30 pm to 3:45 pm

During inclement weather a supervisor will be at the back doors by 8:15 to admit students who may have arrived a bit early. Supervision on the playground does not begin until 8:15.
Students arriving from 7:30 am to 8:15 am are able to buzz the Before and After School Room intercom at the front elevator doors for access.  Students in grades 1-6 will then need to proceed directly to the Before School Room.

Volunteer Criminal Record Checks

All volunteers must have approved Police Information Checks with the Regina Public School Board and have signed a Reporting Criminal Charges Form to volunteer in any capacity with the school. Parent volunteer letters can be requested from the Main Administrative Office which are then taken to the police station.  We can no longer accept PIC's directly from parents. This means that parents will not be able to volunteer last minute if they are not already on our approved list. We would encourage all of our parents to have their PIC's completed at the start of the school year. There is a one-time fee of $10 to have your PIC done. Once you are approved and on our list, you will remain active as long as you volunteer once per year.  As well, Regina Public School Board Driver Authorization forms must be completed annually if you are planning on driving for events or sports teams.
